dogwood in new zealand

I fell in love with dogwood trees when I lived in Georgia. Rumor had it that they grew in New Zealand, so I kept my eye open for them. I finally got to see one in full bloom during the Fringe Festival at the Regional Council!

I don't think I have seen these before. Do they smell wonderful also?

They must occur over here in some garden or other but I don't recall seeing them. Very pretty.

They're so lovely - I planted one this spring and I do hope it'll survive.

We met these on white in Vancouver when we lived there.
Haven't met them again in Oz.
Aren't you lucky?! Jazzy Jack

Dogwoods are beautiful like your picture. We saw a whole valley in flower near Yosemite NP in 2012. A great show.

They look a bit different from the ones I knew in Mississippi - there they were white
